Play Review: Blood Brothers

On the evening of Monday 24th April a group of theatre fans headed out to the legendary Empire Theatre to witness the spectacular 'Blood Brothers'. Pupils were left enthralled as the brilliant Linda Nolan acted and sung away on stage.

From start to finish the Willy Russell play was a brilliant mixture of comedy and drama, with a gripping and devastating plot that left some visibly on the edge of their seats. With mesmerising performances by Stephen Palfremen as the heartwarming Mickey, a young rapscallion from the backstreets of Merseyside, and Craig Whiteley as posh teenager 'Eddie', the audience was kept wanting more.

'Blood Brothers' is a play about two teens separated at birth by their hard-up mother Mrs Johnstone. Eddie was given to Mrs Lyons, the woman who Mrs Johnstone worked for. The children very soon meet and become best friends, or 'blood brothers' as they call it. Little do they know their friendship will soon end in disastrous results as the plot takes an almighty twist in their tale.

We highly recommend that you see Blood Brothers as soon as possible as it is one of the most highly rated plays of the past decade and it is wonderfully performed by the following cast members:
