On Wednesday 26th April it was confirmed that the life of Peter Turns had been cut short at the age of 27 years. A man of great spirit and joy, Mr. Turns was a great teacher to our pupils in the 4 years he taught at St. Chad's.

He taught I.C.T. and contributed in lots of activities in and out of school. One of these was the year 9 and 10 trip to Barcelona where he and the students were involved in football games on the beach and trips to Barcelona's famous sights, such as the Nou Camp. Inside of school Mr. Turns ran clubs for I.C.T to help students with thier work in school.

Laid-back and easy going, Mr. Turns let pupils play games on the internet if they had completed all their work. Mr. Turns also brought the game 'Quake' into school, which he would put onto the school system for last lessons of the end of term and the year. He aslo told us about his love for Sunderland FC and who his best player was.

Although Mr.Turns was an I.C.T. teacher, he was to all of us, so much more. We saw him as a football coach, a briliant skier but most importantly a friend. We think of his family and friends aswell as remembering a truly great and inspiring man.
