Spot The Difference!
If you look carefully at the photo of the Science Block you will see that it has suddenly grown an extra floor! This is how the block will look like in September. At a time when most schools are cutting back on improvements to facilities due to budget restraints, because of careful finance management and the fact that we are full, St.Chad's continues to invest in improving buildings and facilities for our students and staff. The computer-enhanced image shows how the building work, which will start next term, will give us increased capacity for our rising numbers and allow us to take out of use some of the older classrooms. We have spent over £11 million in the last five years building our school for the future and we future-proofed the Science Block by extending the lift and services when it was first built to allow for this extension. We have also had new windows fitted around the Technology Block, and that work has been completed this week. This follows the refurbishment of workshops that took place in the summer. This block was the original school when it opened in 1976 so it was due a face-lift! We are planning to improve the remaining rooms and Maths Block in the near future.
