Barcelona 2008
On the 2nd July, Mrs Jones, Mr Lear and Mr Dooley left Liverpool airport behind and headed off for an action packed trip to Barcelona. Our arrival at the hotel was not helped by a customs strike in Spain and a coach driver who took us to the wrong place! This was, however, the only setback on a memorable trip. For the next four days, we filled every moment with activities to suit all cultural and sporting tastes. From the Dali Museum to the Camp Nou via some dazzling displays of beach football and street dance (courtesy of Chad’s pupils!) we went to bed each night absolutely exhausted. Our last day was spent at Port Aventura, where we experienced some hair raising rides. We arrived back in Liverpool tired but with some wonderful memories.
Paris Trip 2008
At midnight on Friday 4th July we left behind the rain clouds of Runcorn and set off for even more rain in Paris! On Saturday we made our way to the centre of Paris to take a river cruise and see all the main tourist sights, including the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe and then tried our hand at archery, trapeze and abseiling, followed by a well-deserved swim in the pool back at the PGL château. On Sunday we spent the morning in the lovely historic town of Brie Comte Robert and made time for a little souvenir shopping at the outdoor market before going to visit the impressive gardens at Fontainebleau. Our trip was completed on Monday by a visit to the Asterix theme park before we set off for home after an exhausting but pleasant trip.
