Savio Year 10
30 of our year 10s attended a retreat at Savio house in Bollington.
We explored the theme of water and reflected upon our lives ‘under the surface’. We had lots of swashbuckling fun in the mud, and enjoyed time of prayer and reflection.

Road Peace
The choir (led by Miss Smith) sang beautifully at the recent Merseyside Road peace Service. We remembered and prayed for those who had lost their lives in road traffic accidents, and also prayed for

SVP
We have recently set up a new SVP group with the year 10s. They will be working with those in need in our local community. Placements are at Halton Lodge primary School, Simonsfield Residential home. Please keep our young people in your prayers as they take God’s love to others.

Operation Christmas Child
Wow! What a successful year we have had this year. Pupils have gathered an astounding 202 shoeboxes boxes. We’d also like to give a massive thanks to all the parishes who have kindly devoted items, and shoeboxes to the appeal. Well done everyone! You have made a massive difference.

All Saints mass
We recently celebrated mass with over 400 pupils in our Gym. We looked at beatitudes and what in means to be a saint today. A special thank you to Father Jonathan who celebrated mass with us. We thank God for all those people who have been saints in our lives.

Hampers
Pupils have been busy recently putting together hampers for people in our local community. A big thanks to everyone for all their support.

Christmas Services – A Divine Spark Within
This year our team of young talented pupils from all the year groups shared and reflected on the meaning of Christmas with the rest of the school. We followed the journey of a naughty star and the transformation he made when he listened to God and let Christ into his life. We also took our Christmas reflection to Holy Spirit Church. Thanks to Father Jonathan and the parish for making us feel so welcome and thank you and well done to all our young people for their commitment.

Fund Raising for Halton Haven
Our Sixth form Chaplaincy Management team have been busy  fundraising for Halton Haven by selling the beanies. We have raised over £40.

Justice and Peace – St. Chad’s is becoming more environmentally friendly
The sixth form Justice and Peace group and General RE groups have been encouraging us to recycle paper and turn off lights. We now have a recycle bin from the council which gets filled up regularly by general RE students. Its only a small step but we recognise that ‘every little helps’!!!

6th Form Chaplaincy Team
At present there are over 25 sixth formers who are involved in the running of Chaplaincy at St. Chad’s. They have been busy putting up displays and running fundraising activities.

Year 7 – Chillax
This term has seen the launch of the Year 7 lunch time club ‘Chillax’. Pupils can come along and socialise, pray and roll their sleeves up for some arts and crafts activities. Chillax runs on a Friday lunchtime.
