The government have set a target for all schools in the UK to have achieved an "Extended School" status by 2010. An "Extended School" is a school that provides a range of activities and services to meet the needs of the pupils, their families, and the wider community. St Chad's have already begun this process, and will continue to do so with the new development in the school. The government guidelines suggest that the schools should be open from 8am - 6pm.
