Why Chemistry?
Chemistry is recognised as a demanding A Level subject and as such is seen as a very good indicator of a students ability. A-level Chemistry could lead to a career in the chemical sciences either through university or in industry. Many students, though, pursue other areas of study but still apply their chemical knowledge.

What will I learn?
AS and A2 Chemistry will cover the following areas:
- Atomic Structure and Bonding - The foundation of all chemical understanding
- The Periodic Table - Its organisation and use.
- Organic Chemistry - The chemistry of carbon based compounds
- Green Industrial Chemistry - How chemistry has an effect on our world and how it can improve the quality of the environment
At University you could go on to study:
- Medicine
- Geology

- Veterinary Science
- Pharmacy
- Agricultural Studies
- Forensics
- Biomedical Sciences
- Environmental Studies
Past students have gone on to study at York, JMU, Liverpool, MMU and Salford universities.
