Why study A-Level Religious Studies?
The religious Studies Specification followed is designed to support a course of study which is suitable from all religious backgrounds or none.

The specification enables candidates to:

  • Develop an interest in 'enthusiasm' for a rigorous study of Religion
  • Treat the subject as an academic discipline by developing knowledge and understanding that is appropriate to a specialist study of religion
  • Use an enquiring, critical and empathetic  approach to the study or religion

The department has strong links with RE departments in other schools and is currently fostering links with a number of Universities. Religious Studies in Sixth Form can be the Gateway to many university courses, including Medicine, Law, Journalism, the Armed Services,  Teaching and Management, to name a few.

The course is taught in a state-of-the-art Religious Studies block by experienced staff. The department was given Outstanding during the recent Section 48 OFSTED inspection.
